French drummer and Jazz musician/composer Daniel Bechet dedicated 1979 “Song to My Father” to his father, the famous Sax/Clarinet player Sydney Bechet

Sydney Bechet’s son-only LP is a hidden treasure we are proud to reissue.
The base is a solid Fusion and Jazz Funk sound. Still, the mellow and soulful moment is wonderfully groovy with arrangements reminding George Duke’s albums, or Cortex plenty of funky Fender Rhodes.

Magic in its purest form. I love Floating Points, I love Pharoah Sanders, I love The London Symphony Orchestra. It's a match made in heaven, and the result is absolutely gorgeous.
